Description

The You Ji HBM-130 is the heaviest horizontal boring mill in its class. With standard accessories, this heavy duty 60 HP horizontal boring mill, weighs in at nearly 130,000 lbs. of Meehanite cast iron. The machine design features a moving column for the Z axis and a moving table for the X axis only. This design, which is superior to a moving table / fixed column design, allows for maximum rigidity, better accuracy, and full support of the table over the complete X axis travel. The moving column design eliminates the need for outriggers or outboard supportive ways to support high table loads. The X axis is fully supported by the base with absolutely no overhang of the table. The machine features precision ground and induction hardened box ways in all linear axes. All box way mating surfaces are coated with Turcite-B and hand scraped for fit. The X axis features a unique triple box guideway with a hydrostatic way structure which is capable of sustaining heavy loads. The ways are force lubricated via a pressurized automatic oil lubrication system. Accurate positioning is carried out by large diameter, pre-tensioned ballscrews and powerful servo motors. Accuracy is ensured by the standard Heidenhain linear scales in all linear axes.

The 130mm (5.12”) quill is made from chrome-moly steel alloy. The spindle and sleeve are nitride hardened and then ground and lapped for high precision performance. The spindle is supported with the highest class of precision bearings to ensure optimum accuracy and to provide a stable platform for heavy duty cutting. The 60HP main motor with 2 speed gear drive ensures outstanding cutting performance at any spindle speed and produces a whopping 1452 ft. lbs. of torque at only 218 RPM. The spindle delivers a maximum speed of 2500 RPM. Triple cooling of the spindle system ensures accuracy and thermal stability. The spindle external sleeve is oil cooled, the spindle bearings are air / oil mist lubrication, and the boring spindle is also oil cooled.

Our B axis table is the best in the business. The hydrostatic bearing system uses cutting edge technology to produce outstanding accuracy, heavy loads, and heavy cutting. The table is driving via a high precision dual pinion mechanism, delivering maximum thrust force and continuous immense power. B axis accuracy, with the high resolution encoder, is +/-7.5 arc seconds with +/-5 arc seconds repeatability. The combination of hydrostatic X axis ways and hydrostratic B axis rotary table provides a table load capacity of 55,000 lbs!

An impressive list of standard features includes a heavy duty 60 tool arm type ATC that is stand alone and separated from the machine for easy maintenance, a chip removal system consisting of a screw type conveyor between the table and column that discharges into a caterpillar type conveyor on the right side of the machine, a high volume coolant system, tall type table guards to contain chips and coolant, a full B axis rotary table, Heidenhain linear scales, and 300 PSI coolant through the spindle. The powerful Fanuc 31iM-B Plus control is standard. The 31iM-B Plus features the Fanuc Alpha I servo system with 1,000,000 pulse encoders.
