The VC850-5A is a 5-axis Vertical Machining Center for high performance 3+2 and 5-axis simultaneous machining with spindle speeds up to 18,000 rpm. This machine has an integrated rotary-/swivel table that is perfect for workpieces up to about 350mm on rotary table and accommodates parts of many different sizes and materials. It is available with the most modern controls such as Heidenhain and Siemens.
Designed as a compact machining center, the VC850-5A has a patented one-piece way covers in the X & Y axis, eliminating the accordion style cover, and reducing the required floor space up to 30% over similar machines with the same working area. The overall design is perfect where there is very limited floor space capacity.
This way cover design significantly reduces maintenance costs and increases machine uptime, and shrinks the distance from the machine enclosure to the table down to only 6.2 in (160 mm) to facilitate easy part loading.
A heavy casting that is optimized by FEM method ensures high rigidity and high cutting performance. All ballscrews are oversized and supported on both ends. Large tool magazine options include 32 tools or 48 tools. The machine can handle heavy workpieces and can be configured with automation for production applications.
