The You Ji YV800ATC Vertical Turning Center is a compact, high precision, heavy duty machine. The rigid vertical column and base are meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. It is designed for turning of medium and large size workpieces. The X and Z axis are available in your choice box ways with Turcite-B or heavy-duty linear guideways. The ways are completely enclosed and a forced lubrication system assures high precision. The high speed way system enables rapid traverse rates of 787 inches per minute. The precision class 3 ballscrews are driven directly by the servo motors, eliminating belts or gears for high precision.
The spindle construction is a heavy-duty design incorporating a high precision 18” O.D. / 13” I.D. Timken Cross Roller bearing and NN type roller bearings to endure high axial and radial loads and accommodate chuck sizes up to 40” diameter. The spindle also is protected from coolant contamination. Tremendous table torque is developed by the 30 HP Fanuc “P” type high torque spindle motor coupled with the 2 speed ZF gear box. The combination of the high torque Fanuc motor with the ZF gearbox generates more torque than a standard 50HP motor with a gear box. The spindle is then driven by a class 1 ring and pinion gear which provides a further gear reduction and torque multiplication. Spindle / table torque is an amazing 7,125 ft./lbs., providing the power for heavy duty machining.
When using the ATC system, the machine is equipped with a rigid box type headstock that provides excellent strength and rigidity. The ATC stores 12 tools with a #50 taper tool attachment. This umbrella style ATC provides shortest route tool selection and is completely shielded from chips and coolant. Chip control is excellent as chips and coolant wash directly into the standard chip conveyor. An optional chip wash system forces any chips from the machining area into the conveyor. This versatile VTL is designed for standalone applications or is easily integrated into a production line. A right / left spindle configuration is also available for a work cell environment.
