The You Ji VTL-1000ATC Vertical Turning Center is a compact, high precision, heavy duty machine. The rigid vertical column and base are meehanite castings, heavily ribbed for reduced thermal distortion and vibration dampening. It can be used for medium / large size workpieces.
The X axis and Z axis box guideways on the large square ram are completely enclosed and a forced lubrication system assures high precision. The high-speed way system enables a very fast rapid traverse rates of 787 inches per minute. The precision class 3 ballscrews are driven directly by the servo motors, eliminating belts or gears for high precision. The large square ram (7.1”x7.1”), made from cast steel, is extremely rigid even when extended the full 31.5”. A moveable crossrail with 20” of travel is standard for taller workpieces.
The spindle construction is a heavy-duty design incorporating an 18” O.D. / 13” I.D. Timken Cross Roller bearing for heavy axial and radial loads. The table can support a load of 8,800 lbs. The spindle also is protected from coolant contamination. The spindle motor coupled with the 2 speed ZF gear box provides the power for heavy duty machining and high speed for fine finishing. Tremendous amount of torque are generated by the 50HP spindle motor through the 2 speed gearbox and the class 1 ring and pinion gear that drives the table. Table torque is over 7,375 ft/lbs.
The ATC stores 12 tools with a #50 taper tool attachment. This umbrella style ATC provides shortest route tool selection and is completely shielded from chips and coolant. Larger capacity magazines are optionally available. Chip control is excellent as chips and coolant wash directly into the standard chip conveyor. An optional chip wash system forces any chips from the machining area into the conveyor. This versatile VTL is designed for stand-alone applications or is easily integrated into a production line.
