High speed EDM drilling
The DRILL 300 digital generator has state-of-the art powerful electronics to increase production output by utilizing efficiently controlled EDM processes that include FPGA technology, digital data recording and fully digitized pulse control. The drilling process is continuously optimised with every pulse, thus the fastest drilling speed is achieved.
Minimum Heat Affected Layer
Heat affected layer and cracks are always vital problem for the fatigue lifetime and safety of the components in a jet engine. The DRILL 300 digital generator allows the finest pulse duration in a few microseconds. When quality technology is used, the heat affected layer can be dramatically reduced to a few microns with a reasonable machining speed. The cracks can be eliminated and the fatigue lifetime of the components can be increased accordingly.
Powerful CNC
The DRILL 300 can be configured with six axes: XYZWAB or XYZWC and tilting head, the holes with different diameters, positions and angles are freely programmable and machined with single setup, no more need additional fixtures and spending time for work piece alignment.
Fewer electrodes consumed
The DRILL 300 uses inexpensive standard electrode tubes for the machining of all holes. With GF AgieCharmilles’ latest digital generator the current form of the pulses are fully optimized for EDM drilling, for the parts material such as steel, nickel alloy etc., by selecting “quality” technology, the electrode wear will automatically be reduced compared with the conventional EDM Drilling.
Easy programming system
EASY DRILL manages the programming and machining for single hole on one page.
With on board AC CAM DRILL and PATTERN page the programming for multi-holes with same or different technologies can be prepared. AC CAM DRILL helps the user interactively to define technology parameters, drilling sequence and selection of single or group of holes etc.
Automatic Electrode/Guide Changer
The linear 16/4 electrode/guide changer and 50/8 rotary electrode/guide changer are optional on the DRILL 300, AEC/AGC 16/4 is affordable solution and AEC/AGC 50/8 is a solution with the longest autonomy for max productivity.
